Having just taken delivery of it, I am currently battling with the lack of instruction provided to find out how to use it and what all it does. On opening the box I found the 200 page booklet which I thought must cover every possible function, but alas, only the first 14 pages are in English. The remaining pages tell you the same in a variety of languages (I presume, although not speaking Finnish, Hungarian or Czech, for example, I can't be absolutely certain!) Simple things like setting the date and time are not covered. The actual menu system on the player doesn't seem to be the most logically thought out but I did notice is my scrabbling about to find the date, an indication that perhaps I can amend that to suit me. As far as the actual performace goes, it has a good sound and once I have mastered the dark arts of guessing how to work it'll be fine. Oh and by the way the scrolling button in the middle of the unit is VERY VERY sensitive even when I adjusted it to the 'least sensitive' setting.

The new iPod has had a lot of criticism in terms of battery life and other problems, but I think that the new iPod is incredible. To me it isn't much of a problem to charge it a little more often than other MP3 players. Although I do find it amazing that Apple still gets away with not giving a free charger and its costs about £20 to buy one.
The screen is a brilliant size, it's clear and colourful. The menu system is the usual iPod menu with a bit more colour. The video quality is really good, yes it drains the battery, but it's just a great option to have. Music quality is great and lets be honest although the Zen Vision M is supposed to be an iPod killer. It just doesn't come close in design and stylishness to the iPod. The 30GB (well 27.5GB really) capacity is also very useful for general storage.
But remember these iPods aren't as strong as previous iPods. So if you don't look after your iPod it will either get scratched or break. I believe this is the perfect item for anyone who wants an MP3 player and iTunes is a truly brilliant piece of software compared to the software that Zen's use.
I would say buy it. But I believe the Microsoft Zune coming out before the end of 2006 will be something special.

The Ipod video is the best ortable music player yet. It hold a massive amount of data, and the video quality is superb, providing you use either a legal converter or a legal iTunes download. Its true that this will only come with a cheap set of headphones and a USB cable, but you can buy excellent speakers (on amazon) for £4, and a charger for £0.01. Granted there is a fee for delivery.
The iPod is great without these things, but its glorious with these additions, and coming in at under £10, its not that bad of a deal.

this product is well worth it. it has music, video and you can store photos on it if you want. video quality is excellent and for me 30Gb is plenty so in my opinion just stick with that.

This player is awesome. I've never had any problem putting my music, calendars, contacts, videos etc on it. The only problem with the black version is that scratches are more visible but i've never noticed them on the screen itself.
