loved it til it died - 14 Jan 2008

Great piece of kit, did everything I wanted it to & even coped with Vista!
Downloading was a dream, ripping from CD could not have been easier.
Simple to navigate menus, did exactly what it said on the tin. Til I killed it.
Used a Belkin audio lead to wire it up to the in car stereo: good lord, I was in heaven!
However, MuVo did not like being constantly switched from Belkin to headphone jack and that's what she died from.
I am still in mourning!!!

Pretty good but could be better - 29 Aug 2007

I have the 2GB capacity version of this player and generally speaking it isn't bad. It has one very significant failing in that if you like to use software to synchronize music and write playlists then forget it. You can't use playlists on this and although Windows Media Player can see it and sync with it, it doesn't actually put the music in the right folders so you'll never be able to play them. You must use the directories already on the device. All in all, this makes transferring music a thorough pain; it might seem neat just use it as a mass storage device and drag MP3s to it but if you've been used to the point-and-click simplicity of iTunes or WMP, it'll hugely irritate.

The player itself is pretty good. The controls are a little fiddly and nothing like as elegant as the iPod. The sound quality isn't bad but lacks a bit of body, the sound isn't very "fat" and can be a little tinny especially if you like a heavier bass sound. The build quality is excellent however.

The key selling points of the player to me was the reasonable price, the simplicity of just using it like a external flash drive in Windows and the fact it takes just one AAA battery so you never have to fuss about charging it, something I found a constant irritation with an iPod. I like to just leave it in my bag and use it when required rather than worrying if it has enough charge or not. Certainly this is much less elegant than an iPod as well as Sony and some of Creative's other offerings, but for all that you do get a good quality MP3 player that takes very little effort to maintain.

Great Player! - 05 Jun 2007

I've had the Creative player for a little below a year and it is a fantastic player. Easy to use, small and slim. It looks great and the menu controls are simple and easy. Music can be organised and stored in folders. The headphones are comfortable to use as well. However the diagrams telling you what the controls are tend to rub off quickly and mine has recently broken in half. It still works (sellotaped up) but I can no longer download songs onto it. A great player, well worth the money, its easy to use and the fantastic sotware it comes with makes it quick and easy to put songs onto the player. My experience hasn't put me off I put it down to bad luck. I definatly reccommend this MP3.

Easy Peasy - 29 Apr 2007

I have just bought this little gem as my first MP3 player, getting on a bit in years i wasn't to sure wheather i could master ripping my cd's into this, but with the software provided with it, it turned out to be an absolute doddle. I don't know why it took me so long to buy one. The sound is excellant, and now my music goes everywhere with me.

MuVo is Magnificent - 11 Apr 2007

I already have a 30GB Creative Zen, but I wanted one that was more portable, so I went with this smaller Creative. Firstly, it can play two music files MP3 and WMA (Windows media audio.) Unfortunately for proplr who have iPods they cannot put iTunes on this machine this is not compatiable with iTunes. There are two more bad things with this machine as it does not have a radio, but I'm sure with the not too fussy like me that would not bother them and ripping CDs from the software/media explorer provided is very slow and you are better downloading the album online or ripping it through Windows Media Player. Although they are only minor things.

On to the advantages of this magnificent machine. Well it has multiple shuffle modes ranging from shuffle track to repeat folder. It also can create playlists through the machine by clicking the wheel and selecting add to favourites. There is one thing that the iPod equivalent, the Shuffle is there is a lyric display on its LCD screen so for the karaoke fans out there you can sing on the move. The click wheel is smaller and in built saving room in comprasion to the iPod shuffle which also means less complications and easier to skip tracks.

This is a brilliant little machine for the people who are less technologically advanced or people who just like their music. This MuVo is certainly a great music player and its advantages outweigh its disadvantages. Deserves a 9/10.
