5 Reviews for Philips SA4120/02 2GB Flash audio player
Fantastic MP3 !!! - 16 Jan 2008

I really liked this gadget as it's compact allowing me to run/work out at gym easily with it, also enough room for around 500 tracks and easy to use as far as uploading music and then changing tracks once your bored of certain songs. I would definately recommend this to anyone looking for a compact easy-to-use MP3 player and have even bought my husband one!...
Good Player but Power Hungry - 11 Jan 2008

Was looking for a new MP3 to replace my tired unbranded 512Mb player and settled on this one.
It's quite stylish player, docking to a PC is via USB mini socket and lead/dongle rather than direct plug in (similar to a camera). The operating software is for XP only but I was able to connect to my Vista laptop which recognised and synched with the device via Windows Media Player without any trouble. Seems fairly solid with firm switches, not too flimsy. Sound quality is reasonable so and the supplied earpiece quite comfortable.
As stated in a previous review it is a bit power hungry, don't expect more than about 3 hours out of a single AAA battery.
By default, the player runs your installed tracks in alphabetical title order rather than arranged by album, a case of "read the manual" and sort out the options I guess.
In conclusion a good mid-price MP3 but keep plenty of batteries handy or invest in some rehargeable ones.
Battery eating Vista-hating music player - 14 Nov 2007

I bought this a week ago and I am generally pleased so far. There are a few niggles, but what the heck, no-ones perfect and iPOD's are for the trendy.
The application software doesn't have a Windows Vista Version so I can't say its good or bad as I can't use it.
I was surprised at the sheer size of the unit I must say, and that seems to be mostly driven by the battery compartment (1 x AAA battery required).
Power is the biggest drawback I think - this thing eats batteries like they were going out of fashion; but then I do use it for hours at a time.
What I have not tried yet is a rechargeable battery and recharging thru the USB cable (might work, but the manual doesn't say this is a feature).
All in all not bad, what do you expect for £35?
Philips flash audio review - 20 Oct 2007

This is an excellent mp3 player. It is extremely easy to navigate, no delayed using the menu. It plays with good sound quality with the ear phones supplied. It also looks quite cool. Ok, it isnt an ipod in looks, but it does what it is supposed to very well. The software it comes with needs to be installed, but is easy to do, and it runs off windows media player, which is easier to use than itunes(for the ipod). Philips have done a 30gb version some time back, and I hope they will bring out another similar device again with higher memory as I for one will buy it. It is AAA battery operate, so I have invested in some rechargable AAA batteries. My only gripe is there is no place to hook or clip onto yourself. All in all great competition for Apple ipod, and far cheaper.
