This is a great little unit, with superb sound quality for the size. The battery life is amazing and the time ton recharge (from USB port) can't be beaten. The earphones are of good quality (although jumping on the ipod bandwagon being white!) with great bass and tone. Once you get used to the controls, it is extremely easy to navigate around and you can find most features relatively quickly. This is perfect for the gym due to it's size and weight. On the other side, sadly I have to say after owning Sony Mp3's for many years now that I regret the day I ever chose Sony. This is all down to the terrible Sonicstage software. Yes it is easy to use, but it limits you to Sony hardware for the rest of your life (unless you want to reload hundreds of Cd's onto your computer) and sadly ever since I loaded the version of sonicstage that came with this MP3 onto my computer it has made all newly recorded albums skip and jump and it no longer allows me to transfer previously loaded albums onto my new MP3! Frustrating in the extreme. So overall, great MP3 player, terrible software.

My Owens is right! I bought this gorgeous creature for its sleekness and beauty and it certainly is that!
I had terrible problems with it and had to get a computer guru round to resolve it screwing up my computer. You have to rip CDs first then import them to DREADFUL sonicstage - don't know why they have made it so user UNFRIENDLY! It's beyond me - honestly do they have to make things so tricky!
I don't know what to advise cos now mine is working it's just about ok - still doesn't import certain things like MR Owens says....
Anyway - it's an honest review.

I have purchased the NWE002F which has an FM tuner. The unit itself is lovely. A sleek design, simple display with intuitive controls and an acceptable pair of earphones to boot. The rechargeable battery seems good and the usb method of charging is handy. A great big thumbs up to Sony for an excellent piece of hardware. But, and it is a huge but, Sony must get a large thumbs down and stern ticking off for the pathetic 'sonicstage' software that accompanies the player. To begin with, the principle of not being able to upload tracks unless done through a particular piece of software is hideous.It wouldn't be so hard to swallow if it actually worked. Apart from all else, sonicstage immediately made windows media player 11 and realplayer 10 crash on any attempt to open them; lovely. Bracketing out the use of these players, I still can't import a lot of tracks to the sonicstage library for some unknown reason. There are also problems uploading tracks to the mp3 player, urgh! Such a shame as I said the sony hardware is really great. Why oh why did Sony go with this awful software?
Well, I will have to take mine back (didn't buy it through Amazon) or throw it away, far too annoying for me. I believe the ZEN mp3 players are more flexible.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
