shouldnt be allowed to carry the sony logo on it! you can get a better 1gb player! a great mp3 player at first.....
good battery life
okish fm radio
compacts songs well
but..........7 months later
it freezed badly for long periods of time
dirt and smudges dont come off
sonicstage could have been better
the controls design was pants....the joystick is a bad idea- the thing gets stuck or doesnt go in far enough to play
the slide hold button opens in a pocket / bag too easily (it should be a button!)
then it died :( disappointment indeed after less than a year

I got this mp3 just about 10 months now and its brill. in that time, it has been used for constantly everyday and it still works perfectly. i know the memory size is fairly small but ive been able to fit up to 20 albums on it which i think is brilliant. i know other reviewers have criticized the software. im using SonicStage 3.4 instead of the 3.2 that came with it because 3.4 was already installed on my sony laptop and its straight forward enough.
The best thing i thought was the great sound quality and the earphones that come with it are very comfortable, which is important for the amount of time i have been wearing them and because i have health problems with my ears which were not aggrevated by these earphones. Alas, due to my own fault the earphones have recently had a little accident and i need to get new ones. i would really love to be able to replace them with similar if not the same kind earphones. ive tried and have not been able to find them anywhere so any help is much apreciated! Thanks, Lu.
ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET REPLACEMENT EARPHONES PLEASE??????

This is a super mp3 player. It's very compact and that makes it a pleasure to hold in your hand. The battery life is superb. You only have to charge the bean up for like half an hour to get 24 hours playback. Sonicstage is not as annoying as people say and the minor setbacks that it does possess still do not rob the bean of it's superb quality. And the mode selector looks flimsy but its not. I've the bean over a year and have not had any problens with it. GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY!!!!!

Although the sound and features of this device are great, what idiot thought it would be a good idea only to allow system administrators to transfer music from the library to the player???.
I am sure there are thousands of parents like who allow their kids limited access but wouldn't want to restrict them playing their music. SAVE YOUR MONEY ! buy a genuine mp3 player that allows simple transfers without having to go through the god awful sonicstage software!

looks great, sounds great, the battery life is amazing, 3 mins charging for 3 hours!! i recommend it.
