Great Looking & Reliable - 04 Oct 2005

I have had this mp3 player for about 6 months now and I have experienced no problems as yet. The player itself looks great and the quality of the sound is also excellent. This mp3 player is recommended if you only listen to a few tracks at a time and want something original and cool to wear! The only downside is that all mp3's have to be converted using sonicstage softwar (or you could just buy off the connect only store). Beware, some legally downloaded mp3's off certain websites will not work on this player (as it cannot be converted using the sonicstage software due to copyright issues). Just do what I do: Stick to good old CDS!

Not Recommended At All - 18 Sep 2005

This is just a note to say that i have had nothing but trouble with this product. When i first got it everything was fine. After about 6 months of usage the headphones stopped working and the battery compartment broke off. I had treated the MP3 player with care so there was no excuse. I managed to exchange the old one for a new one but just yesterday i realised that the light inside is going and one of the buttons doesn't work. I am extremly angry at this as i have had it less than a year and have had numourous problems. In my opinion this product is NOT up to standerd and i do not recommend it to anyone.

Great Little MP3 Player - 20 Apr 2005

Firstly this mp3 player has superb battery life! with decent alkaline batteries it works a treat, ive had this now for at least a couple of months and have just fitted my third battery out of my pack of 4 which were just £1.50. which is damn good considering i listen to my music every night when i take the dog out for a walk.

No skipping as it is solid state memory.

One little gripe i have with it is that i seem to have got dust and general cruddy stuff out of my pocket behind the nice plastic that goes over the polished style effect frontage so i would tend to recommend that people put it in their supplied black holding case. Mine will now have to be cleaned out as iam particular about those sort of things.

256mb is enough for me ive put roughly 9 albums on it, which just filled the memory. I would say to use the ATRAC3 format though if at all possible as the quality is superb. and much smaller file size than an mp3. To put mp3's on this you need to download a utility from sony's site which is an .exe file that you copy across and you need to run this off the device and copy mp3s over to a special window for them to work, you cant just copy mp3's straight over to the device. (bit of a faff)

One last thing is that iam a Linux user and unfortunatly this will not work at all with linux!! not even under wine. Seems to be Windows only!

To sum up. I like this alot and with this being sony should last forever!

Superb little beauty - 31 Dec 2004

Tiny, light, sounds great - nice and loud (unlike my Sony MD player which enforces volume limiting) and the use of easily available AAA batteries gives fantastic battery life. This is going to be with me for every visit to the gym. Recommended.

Delightful!!! - 20 Sep 2004

I spent a great deal of time researching these MP3 players. Originally I intended to purchase an Apple i-pod. Although I agree the software and hardware are excellent, once again we have a product that saves files in a format only recognised by Apple (I've just discovered Quicktime Player too). Yes, it does save in MP3 format but will default back to AAC. I'm not entirely convinced that they have resolved the on-going battery problem - an area where Sony are ahead of the game. This little gadget gives me more battery time than any other I looked at on the market.

So having decided that I wanted to work with MP3 format my research brought me back to the Sony NW-E75. I wanted a gadget for the gym. Previous experience both personally and through friends led me to conclude that most of the main contenders had major faults - although sporadic this was a risk I wasn't prepared to take. I wanted something totally reliable, easy to use and smart to look at. The Sony is that and some!

I downloaded the Sonic Stage software free from Sony's web site a week earlier and imported most of my CD collection with ease whilst waiting for the delivery. This is an excellent piece of software. Although it is not as simple as Apple's i-tunes I believe it to be more sophisticated. (It also linked up nicely with my Sony Picture Package for my digital camera).

The MP3 itself is even more gorgeous in the palm of your hand than it looks in the picture. Beware, it does say at Amazon that it will save up to 11 CD's. In MP3 format it will only save 4 - but that is quite enough for the gym and I didn't want to compress the files and loose any quality. In fact, this is made clear on the sony web site.

I had this little toy out of the box and running in under five minutes. It is easy and straight forward to use - particularly when on the move. The sound and volume quality is fantastic. I've paid about £50 more than the average for this little toy but I'm glad I did. The quality, style and reliability are worth that much to me. Amazon's price is better than I could find anywhere else too!
