WARNING!!! Great Player, POOR SOFTWARE. - 25 Dec 2007

I bought this for my daughter at Christmas, but had to replace it for the updated NWZA model, which visually looks exactly the same. Soundwise, this model is excellent, but the software to download is very frustrating and annoying. With the new model, which is also cheaper, all you do is plug it into your PC and then drag-and-drop. This takes minutes and not hours, like this particular model. I own a Creative Vision M and so its not like I don't know my way around an mp3 player. If you like puzzles, then buy this, but if you like an easy life, buy the NWZA version, you won't regret it.

I have had my walkman now for over a month and I love it! I keep finding excuses to use it. The sound quality is fantastic and the same applies to the screen quality. I was blown away when I first watched a video clip and listened to a music track - it was nothing short of fantastic!! What topped it off was how easy the player is to operate.
The sonic stage software can seem a bit of a pain sometimes, but you can forgive this 'flaw' when you hear and see the sound and picture quality. I would strongly recommend buying a protective cover for the walkman and the screen, which you can pick up fairly cheaply, but still allow you to work all the buttons and don't impact upon the visual quality at all. Great to tuck into your desk drawer at work and listen to or watch in your break(s).
In my opinion, this is far better than an I-pod, and I think this view would be shared by all those who own one (plus it is much better on battery life). When I was thinking of purchasing a player such as this, I realised that Sony are renowed for their knowledge and expertise regarding music and other electrical items; Apple for computers. So, which one would I pick as a music and video player of this calibre? No question - Sony everytime. They have far greater expertise in this area and it shows.

This is a fantastic MP3 player,the screen is clear and easy to navigate.It is a very attractive player.
We have no problems with the installing or using the software at all.On one PC we are using a previous version of Sonic stage that came with previous sony MP3 and it works fine too.
Sound quality is great,as always with sony but now a player to match.
Just need some accessories now!
